Description
As summer gives way to autumn, temperatures change bringing a cooler wind and leaves will cling to that last bit of green before giving into their fall splendor of color. I came across this boat floating on the edge of a lake at Kylyemore Abbey in the Connemara National Park in Ireland, with reddish mauve reeds and various shades of greens surrounding the lake. A calmness came over me after taking this photo as the world seemed to fade away, similar to that quiet before a storm rolls through. It was as if I could feel the plants breathing their last sigh of summer before giving in to the inevitable change.
This variegated yarn reflects the multitude of greens by having three distinct shades of green throughout the yarn. It is capped off by one end being a soft dusty mauve.

Why work with yak?
– Yak down is the softest of the yak fibers.
– Yak are known for surviving at extreme temperatures, and never shivering. 😉 This fiber has incredible insulating properties to keep you warm.
– It is a strong fiber, stronger than wool, which makes it perfect for those long lasting gifts!
– It doesn’t attract all the microbes that live on sweat so your item will stay fresher longer. It also breathes, by wicking moisture away from the body and releases it into the air. This reduces that sticky feeling that you can sometimes feel with synthetic fibers.
Please note that color variations may occur from skein to skein as a result of hand dyeing. I have matched the colors in the photo as close as real life as possible however some differences may be noticed from monitor to monitor. Please also order as many skeins as you need for your project as color variation may happen one dye lot to the next.
