Description
Stained Glass Sunrise reflects the beauty of a stunning sunrise captured on a long drive. Migratory birds create dots across the clouds, the reflect the beautiful colors. That morning the sky was filled with soft golden light, while the clouds took on purple and mauve tones. This photo was captured by Marlayne of Memory Layne Photos on her drive to South Dakota and is used with her permission.
I wanted to capture these colors in yarn form. Some may remember that this colorway was originally dyed for my Stained Glass Sunrise Scarf that I designed. It was dyed on local wool, and offered with a skein black wool and alpaca as a kit. A couple of those are still available. This variegated version is dyed on superwash wool and has brighter colors. The colors featured on this skein are lilac, mauve, peach, and pale yellow. It is perfect for faux fair isle, as used in my Stained Glass Sunrise scarf, or even socks or shawls.
Worn Suitcase sport:
80% Superwash Merino / 20% Nylon
Sport Weight
328 yards per skein / 100 grams
Machine wash gentle on cool (Hand washing is highly recommended to preserve the life of the finished item)
Please note if a color is listed as a ‘backorder’ option, it will be dyed to order and may take up to a week to ship.
Please note that color variations may occur from skein to skein as a result of hand dyeing. I have matched the colors in the photo as close as real life as possible however some differences may be noticed from monitor to monitor. Please also order as many skeins as you need for your project as color variation may happen one dye lot to the next.
