Description
Mojave Turquoise is inspired by a stone with the same name. This is a gorgeous stone of the recognizable turquoise blue shade with bits of purple and gold or copper (depending on the lighting). It is actually a combination of turquoise nuggets that have been pressed together with a hydraulic press and a metal, usually bronze, matrix is added to the stone. This creates the beautiful webbing over the stone.
For this colorway, I layered blue and a light green to get that iconic turquoise color and then speckled it with purple and gold. As this colorway is created by speckling loose dye powder over the yarn while it’s wet, some skeins may have more speckles than others.
Starmap yarn base:
70% Superwash Merino wool, 25% nylon, 5% Stellina
Fingering Weight

Please note that color variations may occur from skein to skein as a result of hand dyeing. I have matched the colors in the photo as close as real life as possible however some differences may be noticed from monitor to monitor. Please also order as many skeins as you need for your project as color variation may happen one dye batch to the next.
