Description
Rocky Butte Jasper is inspired by a stone of the same name that can only be found along the Idaho – Oregon border in the Owhyee Mountains. It is a beautiful picture jasper with shades of tan, mossy green, and mahogany, with the occasional black dendrite. This stone cabochon that inspired the photo was mined by Steve Schultz with Silver Streams Northwest.
For this colorway, I started with a tan base and then layered a brown green color, a mahogany, and a bit of green. As this colorway is created by speckling loose dye powder over the yarn while it’s wet, some skeins may have more speckles than others.
Worn Suitcase sport:
80% Superwash Merino / 20% Nylon
Sport Weight
328 yards per skein / 100 grams
Machine wash gentle on cool (Hand washing is highly recommended to preserve the life of the finished item)
Please note if a color is listed as a ‘backorder’ option, it will be dyed to order and may take up to a week to ship.
Please note that color variations may occur from skein to skein as a result of hand dyeing. I have matched the colors in the photo as close as real life as possible however some differences may be noticed from monitor to monitor. Please also order as many skeins as you need for your project as color variation may happen one dye lot to the next.
