Description
Alexandrite is thought to bring luck, good fortune, and love to those who hold it. Originally discovered in Russia, miners thought this stone was just a regular emerald until they discovered that it flashed red by firelight. With its magical flashes of color, this stone is a beauty to behold. This stone has been called an emerald by day, and ruby by night.
While I did not capture any of the red shades in this colorway, it does flash with hints of green, blue, and purple. Some sections of the natural gray of the yarn may also be present in some skeins, due to the nature of kettle dyeing.

Please note if a color is listed as a ‘backorder’ option, it will be dyed to order and may take up to a week to ship.
Please note that color variations may occur from skein to skein as a result of hand dyeing. I have matched the colors in the photo as close as real life as possible however some differences may be noticed from monitor to monitor. Please also order as many sets as you need for your project as color variation may happen one dye lot to the next.
