Kiku is the Japanese word for Chrysanthemum. This gorgeous color was inspired by giant Chrysanthemum blossoms in Hirosaki, Japan. The brilliant pinks and yellows are captured in this variegated colorway with just a hint of orange at the blending points. During their Kiku Matsuri (Chrysanthemum festival) in the fall the entire castle grounds are filled these beautiful blooms. They were showcased in their natural beauty as well as adorning mannequins that depict important moments of history in northern Japan.
This would make an amazing shawl, scarf or a fun pair of socks. Can you imagine baby girl items made with this color?! While this yarn base is machine washable, I highly recommend hand washing your final item for lasting wear.

Please note that color variations may occur from skein to skein as a result of hand dyeing. I have matched the colors in the photo as close as real life as possible however some differences may be noticed from monitor to monitor. Please also order as many skeins as you need for your project as color variation may happen one dye lot to the next.
